Well.......where would you like me to start???
My name is Eddy Scott and I live in the Stanley area of Derwentside in County Durham with my fabulous partner,Lynda. Let's just say that I'm at the age where I don't really like to divulge it but Lynda, who has known me for most of my life ,doesn't seem to mind that I'm getting older. Lynda came back into my life when I was at an all-time low and she gave me a reason to think that life was good again! She is made of pure gold and I'm eternally grateful for her love.
I'm a Northern fella through and through. Born in the Sacriston area of Durham, I have never felt the urge to leave this fabulous area .
Many people up and down the country will know of me in the Bullmastiff world. The breed has been within my family almost all of my life ......and for more than thirty years I have both owned, bred and shown the breed.
Though I haven't done much showing in recent years because of ill health, I am raring to get back into the ring.
It doesn't seem so long ago since I owned or bred some of the finest puppies ever but when their time came to leave this earth ,usually at a ripe old age,it literally tore me apart. So,I sat back on my laurels,so determined that I didn't want my heart broken over the loss of another beautiful animal. But.............as we all know,Bullmastiffs are addictive and I couldnt live without one around me. So,here we go again!
We are ideally situated to raise both Bullmastiffs and German Shepherds, surrounded by beautiful open countryside and woodland too. We are close to several rivers where our dogs love to splash till their hearts content and we're only about thirty minutes drive from the coast and some of the finest beaches within Britain. All in all ,we have the best envoirnment for our dogs to enjoy as much as we do.
We're close to the A1 ,A68, Newcastle,Durham and Sunderland with easy access to both Scotland (to where many of the Michianti puppies were homed) and The South (who also got their fair share)
I could go on and on about the fabulous Bullies I've owned over the years but I'll give particular mention to the ones I cherished most and dedicate portions of my site to them.
Tafsons Brontie (Zena) was a stunning girl with excellent pigment and heavy bone. Her nature was sensational and she lived to be 11 years old. Sure, arthritis got to her in her latter years but we did all we could to keep her motivated and, once up and about, she would be as playful as any puppy. Zena finally succumbed to cancer. She faught long and hard and we gave her all the medical care we could until there was nothing more that anyone could do. Sadly,we had to let her go.
Lady Appollo (Elsa) was Zena's "partner in crime". They were like a double act. They were as devoted to each other as they were to us and they were real "head-turners". Nomatter where we went folk would stop to talk to them........something they both gloried in!
Elsa presented us with 15 gorgeous youngsters at the end of one of her pregnancies. All 15 survived and became TV celebrities on our local news........and the press loved them too. Now,that was hard work, let me tell you ...but worth every moment spent nurturing and raising those puppies.
Like Zena, she lived to a ripe old age. 10 to be precise. But,sadly we had to make the dreaded decision in her case too. These wonderful, noble animals deserved to "pass away" with dignity.
But we remained joyous in the knowledge that many of their progeny had gained prestige as the foundation of many of todays Kennels and that several of their offspring had attained Championship standard.
Dainty Duchess With Michianti (Cassie) was Elsa's grand-daughter and she came to live with us as part of the family before we lost Zena and Elsa so she did ease the pain of losing them.
Like every Bullie I'd ever owned,Cassie was as gentle as a lamb.loved by everyone who met her and a loyal and trusted friend. Cassie was shown until a leg injury cut short her ring career. She was a bitch was more than a lot of promise . And.....like all of the dogs I have owned or bred, Cassie was a solid heavily boned girl with a fabulous pigment. She retired with some good placings "under her belt"
She too presented us with some fabulous puppies....one who went on to be the foundation bitch for the Briargrove Kennel .
Sadly,we lost Cassie at a young age by Michianti standards. She was only 8 years old and passed away after a short illness. But,like every dog we cherished before her,she will live on in our hearts.
There are so many dogs and so many beautiful memories we could dwell on but now is the time for re-birth....for new beginnings.
Let us introduce our girls to you.
Zena is named after her great-great-great grandma for obvious reasons. She reminds me of the "old girl" in more ways than one and is definately a chip off the old block.
A fine young lady,I really do expect great things of her. She's the perfect female to re-launch our show and breeding agenda though first and foremost, she will simply be "our lass".......a superb pet and part of the family.
Her pal,Maya, is not exactly a case of me diversifying. I owned both Bullmastiffs and German Shepherds in my time ,concentrating mostly on the Bullies in latter years. However, I love the German Shepherd for it's intelligence, loyalty and grandeur.
Though I'm fully aware that GSD long-coats are not permitted in K.C. shows , I personally love the sight of them and Maya will be shown in future shows dedicated to the long-coats.
Maya is a very outgoing girl and both she and Zena get on really well. Together they have inspired me to get back on track.
I'd like to thank Lynda for the support she has given me and for the time and devotion she gives to the new Michianti blood.
Together we shall make our mark!
